About this blog

My name’s Matt. I’m one of those people that doesn’t feel that connected with the modern world and lifestyle choices. Okay, I reckon penicillin and other antibiotics, and quite a few things make living in the present a bit of a bonus. However, I don’t understand why we can’t think ourselves lucky and get on with finding meaning and purpose in ways that aren’t so destructive on the less fortunate and the environment.

Personally, I find peace and contentment comes with simplicity and acceptance of the present.

I’ll be sharing my perspective on a range of things I’m interested in, cycling, snow sports, the environment, politics, religion, motor cycle racing, human behaviour, music, and what ever else happens to grab my attention.

Whilst at times I’ll deliberately be provocative in a way that could be viewed as dismissive, don’t take it to heart.  I appreciate robust debate, and if my views can’t be justified or withstand scrutiny, then there’s a good chance I’m wrong.  I’ve been known to change my mind many times on the same issue.  Furthermore, it is difference that makes the world exciting and I fundamentally respect that everybody has a right to an opinion, no matter how counter it might be to my own.  Not surprisingly, I hope others extend me the same courtesy.
